In 1993, Charles M. Finegan opened New Mexico Mortuary Service. This was a Commercial Embalming Establishment that catered only to other Funeral Homes on a commercial basis. After approximately six years of successfully assisting other Funeral Homes and his Funeral Director peers, Charles recognized a need in his community of Albuquerque for more economical funeral choices to be given to customer families. Riverside Cremations and Burials was opened, and began providing this service. In December of 1997, Charles, along with his business partner Selma B. Trujillo-Martinez purchased the original First United Presbyterian Church in Belen, and opened Riverside Funeral Home. Soon he branched out even further and opened Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque, a Full-Service Funeral Home that could even better provide for area families. In June of 2005 the partnership was dissolved and the business in Belen was sold to an out of state funeral director. With funeral costs in Valencia County rising at an alarming rate, Charles decided to once again serve the residents south of Albuquerque with affordable options by opening Riverside Funeral Home in Los Lunas in what once housed Guggino’s Pharmacy. Offering Full Service funerals starting at $2995 and Immediate Cremations at $895; we find no need to “meet our competitors prices”, you will be receiving a fair price-the first time you call.
Riverside Funeral Home of Albuquerque also has their own on site crematory equipment to further serve their clients, so that families can rest assured their loved ones will be respectfully and professionally cared for through the entire cremation process without the use of a third party crematory. New Mexico Mortuary/Riverside Funeral Home, in an effort to further be of service to our community, have for the last few years been a Corporate Sponsor of the Mudd Vollyball Tournament which benefits Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation.
